It says on the Scotland's People site 'How can I get a birth certificate less than 100 years old, a marriage certificate less than 75 years old or a death certificate less than 50 years old? There are 4 options for obtaining an extract of an entry on the birth, death or marriage registers: Apply in person at New Register House, and we will send you a copy of the certificate within 5 working days. If you make your application before 13:00 you can request a priority copy which will be ready for collection by 16:00 that day. Apply in writing and we will send a copy within 10 - 14 days. If you request our priority service we will despatch the copy within 1 working day by first class mail. Apply at the local Registration Office where the birth, death or marriage was originally registered. Apply by telephone to New Register House using our Certificate Ordering Service (Tel no: +44 131 314 4411).You will need to quote your Credit Card Details and Expiry Date.' nell |

I don't know how Scotland's registrations work, but presumably the births marriages and deaths that aren't on the website must be SOMEWHERE. |

I have been searching my family in Dundee Scotland but as I don't know my grandparents full names, neither my fathers or mothers. I know my mother and father were both born in 1914 and married in 1939, both in Dundee. I can't get their marriage certificates as I don't know the exact date they were married. I can't search on ScotlandsPeople as they don't go up to that date. Anywhere else I can search??? Betty |
