Betty I hope you are still about... Thomas Ferguson married Mary Carney 27 July 1903 at St Andrews Cathedral in Dundee. Thomas was 22 & Mary was 23. Thomas's parents were John Ferguson, Jute Mill Mechanic & Elizabeth Solomon (both parents were deceased) Marys parents were John Carney, Hairdresser & Mary Kennedy. Witnesses were John Ferguson & Mary Carney. They both gave the same address 9 Smalls Lane Dundee. Georgina.

Hi Georgina, I will do that, I didn't know a search was so cheap, they may be able to do it by computers these days rather than search registers. Betty

Betty if you google 'GRO Edinburgh' click on the first page on the list. On the right hand side of the home page click 'family research' and they explain everything you need to do. I think they charge £5 for a 5 year search. Georgina.

Hi Everyone, Do you think the local registry office in Dundee would be able to do a search for my parents marriage in 1939. Then If I got that I would have their parents names, could I do that do you think? Betty

Hi Janice, Yes it does look that way, I have been trying every website I can so far but funny how I do remember the odd name here and there even although I was a kid about 5 years old, many years ago I may add.!!!! Betty

Hi Betty, Looks like you'll have to start right at the beginning then with your own birth cert. Is there any useful info on your mother's death cert? Janice

♥Betty Boo from Dundee♥

♥Betty Boo from Dundee♥ Report 16 May 2006 23:34

Hi Georgina, I don't have my birth certificate, my mother lost everything, don't have anything at all. I know there names but not anything like their dates of birth, marriage date, parents nothing. Everything went with my mother when she died. Betty

Were your parents born in Scotland? Don't Scottish certs show parents' names and marriage date?

Georgina

Georgina Report 16 May 2006 23:29
