I am looking for the following family .. Ellis Haldin born Standon, Herts in abt 1855 Mary Ann Elizabeth (aka Polly) Haldin born Darsham Suffolk (but probably on census as born Ongar Essex) in abt 1861 Mary Louisa Haldin born Forest Gate Essex (reg. West Ham) in 1887 Florence Maud Haldin born Leytonstone Essex (reg. West Ham) in 1889 I have them in 1901 with more children and Mary's brother Walter. I have Mary in 1881 with her parents. I have their marriage ref and the children's birth refs. Ellis' birth is not on free bmd. Have spent about 5 hours this week looking for them and am at my wits end! Can anyone have a stroke of genius (or a lucky break lol) and find them please??!! Thank you !!! Maz. XX

they were where in 1901? - (i assume they are in essex in 1891...)

RG13 pce 1611 f 161 p 19 - I transcribed as Halden??

Hi Maz, Haven't found them on 1891, but they are on 1861 living next door to the Falcon public house in Standon Village; Thomas Halden born 1830 occ; ag. lab Jane Halden born 1828 wife Sarah Halden born 1856 Robert Halden born 1852 Ellis Halden born 1853 Charles Halden born 1859 All born Standon, Herts. Ellis Halden birth; Oct qtr 1854 Ware Vol3 a page 162 Thomas marriage to Jane Bowcock; Jan qtr 1852 Ware Vol 3a page 127.

thank you Jane - at least that proves the Standon place of birth was true if only it was just this lot I couldn't find - the whole of Mary Ann's family seem to go missing and change their names - its driving me insane!! Maz. XX

And I thought your Blins' were bad..lol! Was Mary Ann 'Lodge'? Seen her as a servant in Cheshunt, Herts, but cant find marriage for Ellis...yet!!

Hi Jane - yes she was a Lodge - the marriage was dec quarter 1883 at Mile End - Ellis Haldin to Mary Ann E Lodge oh the Lodges are MUCH worse than the Blins lol lol they all had about a million kids each for a start! and called them all the same names! and then used other names! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!! Hi Germaine, That's them, but Ellis is missing. Married to Mary Ann, but where have they gone? Checked every sibling to see if they were staying with them. The whole family are missing between 1861-91. Obviously mistranscribed, but I've tried all sorts, Even dropped the 'H' as they were Herts/Essex people..lol! Maz likes to set a puzzle!!

Marilyn, I think you've nailed him!! Well done. Been trying to tie the Lodge family together. Maz, which parents do you have for Mary ann? I have found William and Mary Ann in Waltham Holy Cross on 81/91, but cant fit Walter (1878) with them. Or, I have Walter with George and Emma in Romford but cant fit Mary Ann with them..aarghh!! Or are there a completely different set of parents..lol!
