William is definitely more elusive! I have found a possible in 1871, but father William is a Seaman. Here are the details in case they are useful. I don't think we'll be able to prove anything without the birth cert. I'm pretty sure you've got the right details, there can't be many with than name!!! Good luck! Here is Eliza Amy's birth cert details too: Name: Eliza A Gardner Year of Registration: 1866 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep District: Chelsea (1841-1981) County: Greater London, London, Middlesex Volume: 1a Page: 212 Name: William Alfred Findlay Oliver Year of Registration: 1862 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun District: City Of London County: London, Middlesex Volume: 1c Page: 63 When requesting the birth certs, make sure you also tell them the facts you know for sure, i.e. William's father's name, and occupation so they can double check it is the right one. |
