Joyce, if you buy some credits on Family Relatives at www.familyrelatives.org then you can find all the Joseph Mellor marriages up to 1920 (you can't search by middle name on there), and then you could search through the GRO indexes quarter-by-quarter on ancestry from 1921 onwards if you don't find him before 1920. Kate. |

hiya, i would suggest that 'Rathbone' is indeed a surname, perhaps not directly from grandparents, but maybe a gen or two before, i have this kind of thing in my family Julie |

Hi Joyce, When I was a student [late 60's/early 70's] I used to work in New Brighton in the big chippie on the corner of Victoria Road just opposite the public loos. People came streaming off the ferry straight into the chippie, it was a booming, seaside resort then. Haven't been there for years, I hear it's all changed now. Try these sites for a walk down 'memory lane': http://www.new-brighton.f2s.com/ http://www.newbrightonpostcards.org.uk/index2.php This is a good one too: http://www.old-merseytimes.co.uk/index.html |
