hi ann found an elizabeth borthwick married april 1883 sunderland 10a 572 james kennedy married april 1883 sunderland 10a 588 but the numbers are differant, so unsure if they go together

found another elizabeth married dec 1882 10b 382 berwick

Thanks Kay, I'll take a look. Georgina on Thomas Kennedy birth certificate it say's his mother is Elizabeth Kennedy late Borthwick formerly Moor i thought the same maybe they were never married, but having kennedy on birth certifi and also kennedy 1891 census would she have put that? Ann

Ann as far as I know as long as the father went with the mother to register the childs birth his name could be put on the certificate even if they were not married. Georgina.

Ann I dont think this woman married anyone, I cant even find a marriage for an Eliza/Elizabeth Moor to a Borthwick she is a complete mystery. Have you found her on the 1901 census? I have found 3 of her sons but they are boarders with John & Margaret Watson.
