Well thanks so much for that info, its made my mind up to go ahead and do it now, maybe il get somewhere now...

I've been with ancestry for nearly a year, and got so much info. You can also print off the census images. Yes i would definitely recommend it

No not Genes im with Ancestry they have the census 1841 to 1901 BMD and loads of other things well worth the money

It gives me a sore head sometimes all this, lol...this may sound daft but how do you get so much info on the census? anytime i look i dont get all that info, the dwelling etc...is that thro genes?

Ok thanks for that Julie, i do tend to go with what i think is the right date/year, IE; what i said about marriage certificate age...il bare that in mind for future ref...they like to make it hard ah? lol

Kaz Don't forget on the census the head of house gave the info, so maybe by the time he married he might not have been 100% sure of his age and when he was born Julie

Hi Jeanette, i found one for 1874 too in the cencus but because of his age on his marriage certificate thats 3 years earlier, im looking for this info because im wanting to order a birth certificate for him.

Julie, i have that already but its confusing me because of what age he was on marriage certificate, do you think this could be him even though dates are out?

what is his fathers name on marriage cert? have you found him on the census found one 1874 and I think found birth for that one too Jeanette

Hi Reggie, my mum told me he was born in Newcastle, he was her grandfather, i have found him on census(well i think its him) but cant find record of birth, its driving me crazy...lol

Can you be more specific with regards to Newcastle area? Chris
