Have you tried searching the trees on here to see if anyone has him in their family?


If you haven't, may I suggest that you do so


Go to Search at the top right.

Click on it and then click on Search All member Trees


If his name turns up, send a pm (private message) to the tree owner.

you should take caution when looking for Thomas Christian in the censuses ...........


there were 3 Thomas Christians baptized in Rushen between, say, 1802 and 1811, and these could be mistaken for one another as ages are not always correct in the censuses ......

the age of a person in the 1841 is usually rounded DOWN to the nearest 5

ages in all other censuses may be out 1 - 2 years depending on when the census was taken vs the birth date. The census asked for the person's age, it is the modern-day transcribing that has changed that to birth year. The age / birth year may also depend on whether the person (or informant) actually knew how old they were.

I do wonder whether that last baptism might be the one that Gins found in the 1841 and / or 1861 censuses, as both show the birth year as 1811.
