Find Ancestors

Charles Dye seems to have been the name given to the eldest son in many generations of my family, but I cannot get further back than my Great Grandfather as there are so many with the same name - and the same middle name (George/Ernest/Samuel). Especially seem to be Norfolk connections with exactly the same names through the generations, including for 2nd sons (Albert Edward) and daughters (Daisy)and even wives (MaryAnn/Elizabeth)! Really can't find which is/are my relatives. My Grandfather was born in London and I think his father too if I have the right C G Dye! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Don't know if this will help but hear goes. Phoebe Dye b1772 m John Brewer b 1775 both Great Yarmouth had a son John Dye Brewer b 1800 m Sophie Waite b 1810.

My Grandfather was Charles Ernest Dye, born on Moxton New Town,Middlesex18/12/1875. He was in the British Army & married my Grandmother there in 1905. He died there in 1920.
His Father was Charles George Dye, born c1853 who married a Mary Ann Phillips on 7/3/1875 at St John the Baptist Church, Shoreditch. I can't trace her family (too many names the same) or any further back on Charles George. Thank you

For info the birth date given for Charles Ernest on the image of the baptism of Rambling Rose post of 18:32 is 18/12/1875 and address is 29 Forston St

The address given for both Charles G and Mary Ann on their Marriage Cert is 43 Maria St which is the same address on the 1871 census for Charles and Martha (19:01 post above)

Thanks for all the various lots of information. I think the Charles Dye age 22, journeyman carpenter, in the 1851 census must be a different one as he was born in Norfolk and according to the other record you sent me Charles George was born in London.
Daisy and Albert are definitely my G/Aunt & Uncle as I know about them. Have Daisy's husband's name and their death records, but again have 2 different wives for Albert!
