The info Gins found is not connected with the article you posted, as, one, the date is later than the newspaper article, and two, the article related to a civil action in Westmorland, and the trial was in a criminal court in Lancashire |

According to the newspaper article, John Poole was an attorney living "in Ambleside". Mention is made of seeing the defendant at Gillhead. |
