I am looking to find the parents and grandparents of a Mary Wright born 1823 in Kirtling Cambridgeshire.
Mary married a William Pledger in Newmarket 1840

Just a quick observation - a tree on Ancestry has her father as John, presumably from the marriage cert?

Might be a possibility, but you would need the marriage cert to check - John here is an agricultural labourer though so not too helpful!

The cert might also help if the witnesses are related.
