and 1959 aland
1968 coughlin
i think he would have been married by 1968?
so how can i find out which one is correct if any of them?

If he had children that you know of look for that child's birth on FreeBMD and it will give you mother's maiden name. From there you could find the marriage.
However if you don't know if he had children I don't know what to suggest.

the details of john edward edwards married to ellen smith
ellen is my grandmother
trying to find john junior wife have not checked for children as yet
a relative said that johns junior wife had been in contact with my aunt but as she is in her 90s and not in good health do not know if she will remember her?

I don't really think so - it is possible that he was recorded at both addresses in 1928 - it certainly happened on the census's.
There were 2 possible children born to his first marriage 1922 1nd 1925, however we have to be careful as there were 2 more born to a couple with the same surnames in 1931 1nd 1938 !!
Perhaps someone will have a further look around the above and see if they can positively connect them?
I will see if I can find anything else later.

NB - There are earlier electoral rolls which do not mention his wife Elsie but she would not have been entitled to vote until the law changed in 1928 on age and qualification etc. so this would have been the first year she could have appeared on there.

The one who married who married Elsie Honor is not 'your's.
He was the one born in March in Hackney and on his marriage his father John Henry was deceased and a 'Glass Blower' (which doesn't fit)...........
