I'm new to this, had help from Cynthia (Thank you). I didn't know you received answers this way, so thank you all for all the information. it's given me plenty to follow up on.
I know William Cornwell was a paper bag maker (my grand mother, Mary Anne Elizabeth) used to help him with the bags.
There was another Mary A E who died before my gran was born, she took on the same name.
I don't know anything about William's father or William's wife's family (Eliza Lawes). On her marriage cert to William it states her father as 'gentleman'.

Flip I had a look for Eliza and found one with a mother Mary Ann Lawes who was living with her parents. As they had a child or two by the name of Mary Ann I was wondering if this was her mother. Can't find her with a hubby though.

That's a possibility PH - he was listed as gentleman on the marriage certificate!

According to another tree, daughter Esther Emily married in 1903 to Thamas Whitham, they both died in Adelaide Australia - but they obviously have a copy of the marriage cert and it states William was deceased.

I am wondering if Charlotte was actually Thomas Lawes mistress?

Have had absolutly no luck finding either William or Eliza prior to their marriage though - was trying to find them with their families.

Can also eliminate the 1933 West Ham death for William - there is probate naming 2 sons, and they are on the 1911 census.

First child. The page has a big stain on it so it is hard to read and they have the father down as George but you can see it was William George and Eliza Jane Cornwell and he is a Paper bag maker.

This baptism is giving middle names for them all. Father is paper bag maker, add 92 Shacklewell Lane.

Looked back at the marriage image, her father's occupation looks like gentleman, but not sure as writing is bad.

1891, but there are some discrepancies with the children - wonder if Mary Ann from 1881 census died and a later child also given that name?
