He rang his mother, who is into this lark and she came back with the same place. All I need now is for some kind person to look up the original census image to see if it could be read as Bothal, when that is what you are looking for! It is between Morpeth and Ashington which I believe used to be a coal mining area :- 1851 NICHOLSON, Robert Head Married M 57 1794 Coal Miner Bethel, Northumberland
