Thats interesting. The first census (1861) appears way out as Esther Hook (Reid/Reed) was born around 1828 not 1837. But the 1871 census find would fit. Also her daughter Esther Jane appears to have died in 1863, My Esther had a daughter Esther born 1870 so possibly a 2nd Esther after the first ones early death. Alexanders death of 1871 would fit as she remarried Thomas Williams in 1873 and her status was widower. It is just the 1861 census, birth date 9 years out? (I know it's not uncommon for them to be wrong though) |

Alexander's marriage cert would be clue to see if Esther's age and father's details match. |
