Find Ancestors

For some reason, I cannot locate my Grandfather ANYWHERE in the 1911 UK Census! :(

His name was:
George Mason b. 1904 Birmingham.

His Parents:
George Mason b. 1876 Hinckley
Ellen Carter b. 1877 Birmingham

Siblings:
Walter J Mason b. 1905 Hinckley
Arthur Mason b. 1908 Hinckley
Cissie Mason b. 1910 Hinckley

Is it just me, or have they just disappeared of the face of the planet? There was another son born in early 1912, in Hinckley, so they couldn't have strayed too far.....?

I can't find any of them on Findmypast.

They wed in 1902.... but I do have them both in 1901

All I can think of is to obtain the birth certs of the children born either side of the census and check the address(es) out.

They were all born in Hinckley... except for my Grandfather, who was born in Birmingham. There was still a B'ham connection, in that my Gt Grandparents (George and Ellen) ran a green grocers shop in Aston, which was taken over by her father, Thomas Carter, when they came back to Hinckley.

Presumably this is George with prev. wife?

I have a copy of Arthur's in 1908 and Albert's for 1912 and they are living in Hill Street, Hinckley... but it hasn't helped.

It simple says Hill Street.... and George was a 'Hosiery Trimmer'

Has anyone got FMP? You can search by street name in the 1911

did a street search for Hill Street, it's a long road!

Have just spoken to my dad's cousin... his father, Arthur Mason, was born at 6 Hill Street, Hinckley in 1909. This is the same address for when George divorced Ellen in 1917.

The divorce court file for this event is at the National Archive.

This is odd..... ?? LOL!! I have a copy of the divorce court record and that definately says 6 Hill street in 1917... There is a MILL Street in Barwell / Earl Shilton... I wonder?
