North Petherton is a large village/small town on the A38 road out of Bridgwater.Fordgate is to east on the Bridgwater-Taunton canal. It is a bit sparse with only a few houses and Fordgate Farm out on the Somerset levels.Books on the canal show photos in the 1880s with info on the bargemen and people dwelling there.I have lent this book to my grand daughter for a school project so do not know if I will see it again.

As a long-standing board user, you should know by now how to post requests for help

If in doubt, read the guidelines

reggie, i am a paid up member too, and have been for years and have helped a few people on here, i do research myself and have done for 10 years, very rarely i come to ask for help on here if you read my first question i did say AREA in 1871. and i am sure it is genes who i pay for this site and do not need to be insulted by youself.
