You didn't answer my question on the last one Chel, and it was I think rather relevant, which was as far as I recall what relevance does the 1901 census have that you have attached on Ancestry ?

Perhaps anyone willing to duplicate all the work they had already done should have a look at your tree there with the attached certs.

Percy Walter Ryder born @ 1880 died 5/10/1957
Of 78 Claremont Road Salford
Probate 2/12/1957 £2882 2s 2d to Emily Ward married woman.
Lavinia Ryder 1880 died Salford 1944.

Though you say on marriage cert it says Percival had died!!

Re the Lily Wilson aged 3 on the 1901 - there's a Wilson family living two doors away, with children aged 1 and 4. So Lily could fit in there.

But, going with the other possibility regarding Lavinia Ryder (nee Wilson). Has anyone been able to find her on any earlier censuses? I can't see her.

Perhaps this could work?

Was wondering if the Lily Wilson above in 1901 may be Lavinia's daughter and when Lavinia married Percy Ryder in 1905 just maybe he was the father on the marriage certificate of Lily. Speculation but worth a thought.

Of course you don't feel it was a waste of time, it wasn't YOUR time that was being wasted. I remember spending a lot of time on this one.

I remeber finding a possible Percy Ryder on the 1911 (b.1881 in Salford) he was a Carter. On the 1901 census he was a "Surry driver"

A Carter is someone who drives a horse and cart/carriage. A Surrey is a horse-drawn carriage.

If it was this Percy, then he didn't marry Lilly's mother.

I have that information what I am looking for is a) where Lily was born and her date of birth.

b) who was Percival Ryder, where did he come from and his date of birth
