I don't like it either - too hard to read and I can't get it to work in firefox which is my usual browser so have to keep flipping to IE which is a pain

one day I will get a clue - maybe if I go to Liverpool or Ormskirk and trawl newspapers. All I really know is that John was 'deceased' on Wm's marriage cert and as far as I know Wm was an only child

there are 4 John and Mary Miller with a William....but which one is it !!!!

edit - just found that one in family search images - John was a hatter which seems rather a long way from a farmer. I know it is not conclusive but Elizabeth is not a name which appeared. William and Sarah's only daughter was called Mary

apologies for the delay - lost internet access for a while

that is the right marriage and 1861 - pob mistranscribed as does say Goget on the original

popular opinion is that Goget should be Galgate (Lancs accent interpreted by scouser?)

the other is that he said ' will go get it' !!!

I have all certificates from marriage etc and 1851/61 census including newspaper report of his death but finding his parentage is a nightmare

I keep coming back to it every so often to see if anyone can do different lateral thinking. The trouble is there are so many Wm's with father John - John may even have been made up on marriage certificate

Wm is OH gt gt grandfather so causes a bit of a brickwall on the male side. The female Hesketh line is relatively easy back into 1600's

I know nothing more about her. I am trying to find the parents of a William Miller b 1818/19. Elizabeth is a guess. I can't find where William was born as in 1851 it is 'Lancs NK' and in 1861 'Goget' - he died in 1863
