I was always told George Henry Miller was born 4th July 1881 and his father was Charles Miller. I was told that there were three sons George Henry, Arthur and Samuel Robert, they also had two daughers Florence and Emily. The three sons came to Glynneath for work. Although I am having difficulty to confirm this.
I have a copy of George Henry Miller's marriage to Mary margaret Morris on 12th July 1913. It states that he was 32 years old. So this seems to add up to the right age, and his father is stated as Charles Miller a coal miner.
Its so confusing.

I'm so confused.
I will have to sit down and work out my Miller side of my family.

Going back to the beginning a minute ...

" George Henry Miller born 03/08/1914, his parents were George Henry Miller born 04/07/1881 ........ "

Where did you get DOB as 4th July 1881 if you don't have his birth certificate ?

Thanks Kevin

Always good to have the poster provide feedback to questions.

I think we can rule out the George from Bristol then as it seems he married Kate in 1906 and your George was a batchelor in 1913

Who were the witnesses on the marriage cert. please ?

Kevin

Kevin Report 13 Jun 2012 00:21

Mike, it states on the marriage in 1913 that George was bachelor & Mary was spinster.

Look for a 9 / 10yr old George in 1891 with father Charles and it should tell you where he was born

My money's on the Bristol birth.

What was Charles occupation on the marriage cert you have ?

Kevin

Kevin Report 12 Jun 2012 23:44

Patchem, this is my family.
Mike, I can't find the father as Charles.
Only recent family from Wales.

" I was always told that my grandfather & great grandfather were called George Henry Miller. Then my great great grandfather was Charles Miller "

so .....

George H 1914 - Grandfather
George H 1881 - Gt Grandfather

Sounds right to me.

The reason that I have been confused is that I was always told that my grandfather & great grandfather were called George Henry Miller. Then my great great grandfather was Charles Miller. Although I can't find the connection, except if I work out 3 x George Henry Miller's & then a Charles Miller.
