im trying to find out my great granparents names my granfather was peter kinsey born 1915 in warrington two brothers ernest and james mothers maiden name farrell, my grandmothers name mabel (nee) evans kinsey she was born in1918 had two brothers herbert and ray, i live in australia and have no means of talking to any living relatives so any help would be great

according to my records she died in 2000 in rochdale i also are getting conflicting dob 1918/1919, i dont know who her father was i cnat find a record of it and the cert i have for peter kinsey is a small square one which i assume is an extract

It looks like the records you have for Mabel is wrong? to find out her father purchase the marriage cert, but you said she had two brothers called Raymond and Herbert which matches the details I gave you

yes its all very confusing the first sounds right but the date of death is wrong, so anyway thanks for all your help ill keep on plodding away and hpoefully one of my relatives might find the time to return my emails :-)

Are you certain about when she died? did they have 9 children born between 1938 and 1953 all born Warrington? seems strange to die in Rochdale?

yes they had 9 children, but i dont really know where rochdale is but i know she died after my grandfather and he died in 1998i dont recall her living that much longer than him and the only death record i could find says 2000 all the children were born in warrington the eldest and youngest died whe they were small and i think my grandmother was in some kind of home for the aged.

im so sorry i have just spoken to my mother and she has told me that her grandmothers last name was fenton so the info you gave me is the right one my mum suffers with a bit of dementia these days so i should have known better to take her word for it my apologies for wasting your time her maiden name was evans. so all the records ive collecting are the wrong ones so ill just have to start over. thanks again

Rochdale is not a million miles away from Warrington about 30 miles.

As I said everything else fits in with what you said about her siblings, you need the marriage cert to find out her age at marriage and her fathers name.

The death in Rochdale for 2000 matches with Mabel Potts who married Alfred Kinsey in 1941
