i AM BATTLING TO FIND INFORMATION ON ALFRED LEWIS BORN ABOUT 1836 I WOULD IMAGINE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN BORN IN THE BRISTOL AREA AS MOST OF MY FAMILY APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN FROM THE WEST COUNTRY. IHAVE SEARCHED CENSUS BUT WITH NO LUCK. I DO NOT KNOW WHO HE MARRIED. ALL I HAVE DISCOVERED IS THAT HIS DAUGHTER WAS MARY ELIZABETH LEWIS BORN ABOUT 1854 AND SHE MARRIED JOHN QUANT IN 1885 IN BRISTOL ANDTHEY HAD THREE CHILDRE, BASIL, JOHN AND DORIS.

EDIT: See from the 1891 that she was born Bristol but her birth year is shown as 1862.

There is a tree on ancestry has him born 1835 in Glos as Alfred William Lewis. Married Elizabeth Godfrey ... in 1856, and died 1859.

They have Mary Elizabeth born 1860 and Alfred's parents as W Bowen Lewis and Mary Patrick.

No documents attached as proof.

Mary appears to have been born in 1862
