Find Ancestors

Hello I am trying to find the death of Henry Thomas Monday born July 1859 in East Stonehouse Devon. At some point in his life he went to Liverpool and then married a Margaret Stevenson born in Liverpool in1861. She died in West Kirby on 15 Oct 1886, Henry was named as the person who reported her death. But after that we can't find him at all. He was a pawnbroker at the time of Margaret's death. Being in Liverpool I wonder if he just got on the first ship he could find and vanished, or jumped into the Mersey and this death was not reported . He changed his name by adding George I think after his mother left him.So he became G H T Monday
Can anyone please solve the mystery for me please. I know that I have asked before but that was in 2008 , and I am hoping things have changed

I am stuggling to find a George living in Liverpool in 1891.

If he changed his name that could be him and the details on the death cert is only as good as what the informant knew

Jax Just checked that George, and it's not the one, as I have found that George's death certificate,we did send away for it, the informant was the father-in-law a William Barkier(?) the name is hard to read, but this George died 3 November 1887 to close to Margaret's death 14 Oct: 1886 Sorry it's not my George/Henry

Sylvialn ,Yes that is his marriage to Margaret, and Margaret did die in Wesr kirby in 1886 and yes the 1871 census is also them. His grandmother was born in Hull

I have 3 or 4 ways of spelling Elvina But yes to have the family I don't know why I think or thought that Herny Thomas / George left England, it was the sort of thing that could of happened.

Have you tried searching on findmypast for passengers leaving England???


You can search for free ..... I do it all the time, and it just gives you an idea as to whether someone has left, and where they might have gone.
