i wonder if anyone can tell me where i can find parish records for liverpool please, i am trying to find an ancestors birth record for 1847 as i have the fathers name i am now searching for the mothers name and their parents hope that made sense.

i am searching for the mothers surname of john alfred foster born liverpool 1847. his father was thomas foster and his mothers name (all i can find out is margaret) john alfred married harriet maria spencer edington she was from lancashire also the grandparents of john alfred please if poss

Looks like Thomas was married twice

Mike - Thomas was a victualler and was still with Elizabeth on the 1861.

This is the certificate you need.
It will give you his mother's maiden name then you can search for correct marriage
