Find Ancestors

I have a family that emigrated to US in the 1880s They are Charles F Bryant b 21 Jan 1852 in Camden Town and his wife Mary E. Johnson b approx 1855 in London.
They had children Lester Edward F Bryant b 1878 in Lambeth and Stanley Charles Bryant b 1880 Lambeth.

Looking for the deaths of Charles F. Bryant, Mary E. Johnson, Lester Edward F. Bryant and Stanley Charles Bryant. Believe they went to Illinois, USA

I know Stanley Charles Bryant had 3 girls, Dorothy, Eleanor and Marion.
Can anyone help me please.

Year of immigration for both was 1881.

The problem with US records is that they have separate records for each state (often separate records for counties within state) - can't see anything for Charles in California ......

Many thanks for the various US Census. I certainly had not tracked Charles and his wife Mary to California for their retirement in the sun!!

There is somewhere that one can go to get their Social Security nos etc which gives date of death., but it is one of those things that I do not do very often from UK, so have forgotten how to find this out.

Stanley Charles Bryant married an Emma ??? in US, I guess Illinois, Cook area
He must have got married between 1900 and about 1904, because on the 1910 census, I have him having a 6 year old child

Yes, you are coming up trumps. Thank you. Lester was born in the Dec Quarter of 1878, which means either October/November/December, so yes, born 19 Nov 1878 fits the bill and died Aug 1965, in Illinois

According to an Ancestry tree Lester married a Ethel S Shonk b 1884 whose parents were
Charles W Shonk b 1856 Ohio and
Mary E ??? b 1857 also Ohio

From the same source - Emma died 1964 Chicago

Bazz, that would tie in with Mary Ellen Shink with them in the 1930 census, most likely is Ethel's mother.
