The 1911 states 6 childen born, 5 living and 1 had died.

They obviously had another child who died..... who does not appear on the census.

Also, i can't see an appropriate death for Margaret between 1901 and 1911.

Perhaps I can't see something, I thought it was only Margaret.

He was also recorded as aged 25 years 3 months on 9th Dec. 1915 which means he was born around September 1890.

Margaret Crawford I am pretty sure is dead, on the 1911 census it says that 1 child has died and Robert Mary and Edith are accounted for and the other brother who is Joseph.

Ancestry has his army records which show that he married Alice Maud Saunders on 3rd August 1914.

They had Dorothy Margaret on 10/5/15 and James Victor 17/4/17.

The Joseph T must be the one Prickly Holly put up with the birth but you have to remember that he may not have been married in Lancashire at all if his wife was from elsewhere. His mother was born in Wales and his father in Bootle Lancs.
