it's really very strange


I can only find Ephraim on the 1851 Census

I've found his purported father, and a couple of siblings on the 1841, still lviing in Clyffe Pypard

But no sign of an Ephraim


No sign of him on later censuses

No sign of a death registration for an Ephraim, except for that one in 1914.


No sign of an Ephraim being born between 1851 and 1914 to account for that death registration


There is the death of a Thomas Ephraim Sp*ckman, but nothing for an Ephraim as only forename.


and Ephraim does not seem to have had a second name that he could have decided to use.

What a mystery! Thank you. Haven't got the birth cert but will try to get it. will keep trying to find Ephraim but am not very hopeful.He seems to have vanished off the face of the earth.

Sylvia has pointed out that Albert could have reverted to his original name of Coveney, as he is not Ephraim's son, but Ann's from her first marriage.
Ephraim and Ann married in 1836, Albert was born in 1835.
Have you got your ancestor Tom's birth certificate which should show his Mother's maiden name as (probably) Shearman.
