Are you trying to find where he is now or is it his ancestry you are looking for?

patchem Report 29 Oct 2011 09:22

If you are doing his(Roy's) family tree what are his parents' full names?
There is no obvious parents' marriage, so either mis-spelling or her second marriage?
Thanks

If It says nothing else, then presumably he was illigitamate- no father actually named on his birth cert?

Is Edith his sister?

Does your hubby have the full birth cert? if so and no father given then looks like his mum was a single parent, What was her full name please

Astra

Astra Report 29 Oct 2011 09:58

So is your husband Stuart R.?

If you get this marriage certificate it will give you the name and occupation of Roy's father or his birth certificate which will give you the names of both of his parents.

You need the birth cert for Roy in order to proceed . it may be his mum had been married before so the marrige would be in another surname for her

You say you going to London to get some certs .They arent in London.
You can order online from www.gro.gov.uk qoting the GRO ref OR order for the local Register Office but it wont be London.

The LRO in London no longer holds the big red books with the GRO refs, these have been sent to Kew and archived.

The big books only had the GRO refs You have never been able to view the actual certs ,you ordered them through the LRO and they were sent direct to you from GRO Southport.

Now the BMDS are online they have archived the books with the GRO refs
