Barry - does that tree show proof that that is the right Edward.

The post of Flick's shows that on that John & Grace's marriage John's father is Edwin not Edward.

There are 2 Edward's born in Dalton in 1868, one of which has a mmn Grisdale, the other's mmn is not record on cumbriabmd. William james (probably brother) also has no mmn recorded indicating probably that the 2 without mmn were taken from a different village in the district of Dalton.

Also there is no John Isaac baptism on lan-opc whereas all the other children of Edward & Ann are shown (in fact the marriage record of Grace & John shows just the name John - no Isaac, nor is there a death in 1896 for a John Isaac. There are 2 John Gibson's born in Ulverston district in 1838/39
