I have two children Mary ann Gray born 1856 in Rawcliffe Yorkshire and ? brother James Gray born 1858 in Rawcliffe Yorkshire. Parents are supposedly JOhn Gray and Hannah Walker. I have been looking for their birth records for many Years and have come to the conclussion that they are probably adopted. |

There are two Rawcliffes: one is a parish northeast of York (North Riding) and one near Goole (East Riding). I am going to the Hull LDS church family history centre tomorrow (Tuesday). They may have the Rawcliffe (East Riding) parish registers on film, if so, would you like me to doublecheck the references from familysearch for you. Sounds as if you might have been looking at the wrong Rawcliffe! |

By the way, the correct registration district for Rawcliffe (East) is Goole - I have checked YorkshireBMD and it appears that the births were not registered :-( |
