Jane, those two baptisms (Mary Ann & James Gray) were definitely in Rawcliffe, chapelry of Snaith. Mary Ann was baptised on 7 Dec 1856 by Rev'd Mr W Barstow. The address of John and Hannah was given as Airmyn Pastures. |

Sorry Jane, the Hull LDS does not stock the Rawcliffe registers. I expect the originals are across in the Beverley Archives and if I go anywhere near there in the next week or so, I'll have a look for those baptisms and the 1856 marriage for you. |

I think the baptisms have proved that they are their children and I am sure Kim will confirm this for you. |

By the way, the correct registration district for Rawcliffe (East) is Goole - I have checked YorkshireBMD and it appears that the births were not registered :-( |

There are two Rawcliffes: one is a parish northeast of York (North Riding) and one near Goole (East Riding). I am going to the Hull LDS church family history centre tomorrow (Tuesday). They may have the Rawcliffe (East Riding) parish registers on film, if so, would you like me to doublecheck the references from familysearch for you. Sounds as if you might have been looking at the wrong Rawcliffe! |
