Any information would be very helpful in my search, trying to find any information on Samuel Crowther born 1853 or 1856 married Emma Crowther 1868 and/ Mary plummer 1855 in dalham.
Looking for his father/ Samuel's mother was Elizabeth Crowther 1832 from Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, she remarried William Larkinson. But I have no information on his father ???? around 1800's and his parents all I have on that is William Crowther 1801 married Lucy unknown 1804? any information on them would be really helpfull. Thank you for any assistance you can give me. :-D

It looks to me as if Elizabeth was unmarried when she had Samuel so I don't think you will find out who his father was - unless the father is mentioned on Samuels baptism record.

What makes you think that the mother of Samuel is Elizabeth?

Betsy Crowther appears to be William and Lucy's daughter.

Therefore don't understand your statement about her RE-marrying William Larkinson.


If Samuel was born to unmarried Betsy then there won't be a father's name on the birth certificate

As suspected .... no father.
There wasn't a Mr Crowther.
Elizabeth was single.

The only information I have has been from other distant family members on GR, I was unsure of Samuel's date of birth as two GR members have two different dates for him but the same inforamtion about his siblings, I am very new to looking up information, hence why I put it up on here, have no certificates us was unsure where to get them from???I am from NZ and am new to where to look up the information needed in England,

Exactly Mike, although Samuel may have given a name for his father on his marriage certificate (either a made up name to save face or his step-father's name). Only buying the certificate will give Angela the answer to that.
