Would anyone have the time and access to the Canadian census returns in my bid top find more information on the Shute family?. Jane Speare born in 1866 in Devon married a John Shute in 1890 some where in Canada. John Shute was born abt 1858 and he and his wife Jane are thought to have had the following children:-
Evelyn Gertrude Shute1890, married Charles Tuffon
Elba Honniborne Shute 1892, married Howard Stewart
Clarence Heber Shute 1900, married Elsie Gardiner
Unfortunately I cannot provide any dates of marriages but it is thought that John Shute and his wife Jane lived in Ontario. I would be particulary interested in any occupation recorded for the family.

Can you possibly see any additional information on the daughter of John and Jane or Jennie born in 1892, I have her recorded as Elba Honniborne Shute who married a Howard Stewart. My interest lies in her middle name of Honniborne which was carried through many generations of her mothers family.

Again many thanks, your a star. I keep being advised that access to the 1901 and 1911 Canadian census are free but I just cannot get into them no matter how many times I try.

I don't understand why you can't get into the 1901 and 1911 censuses. I just clicked on the link I posted and it takes me right there. Click on 1911 census then click on Ontario. Enter name Shute then next page enter first name John. The one aged 54 is the one. Click on page number to see family. Then click on "Split view" to see original.

Actually I can't see them on the 1901 census, must be mistranscribed.

The family is mistranscribed Shuto on the 1901 census on Automated Genealogy.
I see there's a Home Boy living with them , name of John Conway.

I wonder if this is their Home Boy?
