I know all these wouldn't have been Williams children --but it may give you some names to work with.

Thanks for this. I did a trawlk through infant deaths and couldnt pinpoint as I didnt know thier ages etc. Thanks though I will try the local offices as you suggest using thier Fathers name. x

look on FreeBMD for births and deaths for the area they lived in . Have you looked on earlier census to see if names are there that arent on the 1911.
Edit have just re read your enquiry and you say all on the census's are accounted for so the lost children must have been between . The only way is to trawl through the births and deaths and maybe buy some death certs, Children are recorded under occupation on the certs as son or daughter of and the fathers names. Depending how many you find it could prove costly.
I dont know if the local Records Office would be a better bet as you can give the fathers name as a check, depends though if they are an Office that does look ups.

Hi, On the censuses 1891-1911, my great great grandparents Alice 1861- 1926 and William Yeomans 1857 - 1920 of Chorlton Manchester children are listed but on the 1911 census it says that there are 12 children born of which 8 survived. Now all the children listed on the census's up til 1911 bar 1 (James) who was killed in WW1, all lived til marraige and beyond. These were Alice, Edith, Charles, James, William, Frances, May Mona & Elsie (my grandmother and the youngest of the 12) There is no record of any other children that I can find - does anyone know of a way I can trace these children that were born and didnt survive? Did they have to be registered back then? I dont know any of thier names. Any help would be really appreciated as I am at a loss to find them and I think thier burial site may uncover more info for me. Thanks in advance of any help given Dickie
