As far as I know they married!

She wasn't married before.

However, I must say I have a letter from Louisa to my nana just after my grandad died as there seemed to be a mystery about his name, and she explained that although she was only 12 when her unmarried sister had my grandad he was known to her as Johnny Ernest. But I found his birth as Charles Ernest!

So what do you think married or not!?

or maybe they didn't marry?

I have looked on manxbmd and also family search org where I got lots of data from.

We also have a new Imuesum here too where I have been to get more information.

Just find it really hard to get the marriages of the girls!

Was Minnie her real name? often Minnie is short for a few different names such as Amelia, Margaret, Wilhelmina etc

It might be worth adding IoM to your heading, I bet one of the helpers will have more knowledge than me on searching records there.

where were you dad and his siblings born please?

Selina had lots of sisters and brothers and I would love to find them too as of course they disappear off the census once they get married and I cannot find out who they married!

A couple of brothers I know of as my dad knew them and he also knew Louisa, who I found some letters from.

Married Mr ?? Ainsworth after 1911 lived in Fleetwood but thats all I know.

My nana Minnie Corlett and John (Jack, Charels Ernest) had 4 children Clara Irene 26 1 1922, Doreen Ainsworth October 1935 d Oct 1987 (Doreen Yates), John Corris 20 5 1938 and my dad Robert Michael Corris 8 11 1939

do you have your dad's birth cert?

I cannot see a birth of a child with the surname Corris and mother's maiden name Corlett

Wonder what brought Selina and Richard together!!!! How did he get to the Isle of Man and why??????

I don't have my grandads birth cert but I have seen his birth in the IOM register and no details of farther just place of birth which was the house of the St Georges church.

He was brought up by his grandad and grandmother, then is aunt and uncles! In fact my Dad and Uncle were completely shocked when I found their dads name was Charles Ernest and not John or Jack which is what he was know by, I can't find his marriage to my Nanna Minnie Corlett. They were also shocked that he was illegitimate, they thought his mother and father had left him to go to India as they couldn't take children!

Great to know where Richard Hewitt was born!

I think Selina may be the death in Yorkshire rather than Chesire, but that is only because I beleive my Aunty knew they were in Selby, Yorkshire!

I don't know if she did return to UK. Just assumed she had as her daughter Mona got married in Selby in 1930.

Any idea where her husband was in 1911 census?

She also had a son in 1897, before her wedding to Richard Hewitt, Charles Ernest Corris, he was my Grandad. Not much chance of finding the fathers name?
