I can not find any information about the early years of my grandfather, Clifford Hannam. He was born on10/1/1899, out of wedlock, I think - or possibly very soon after the wedding. His mother's name was Mary Hannam and it has been assumed that he took her surname. She was said to have subsequently married an Ike Tuke who had a son called Walter but I can not find any trace of any of them that seems to fit the facts. My grandfather subsequently married Hilda Shires in 1921 and they lived in Middleton, Leeds. He died in 1978. The family comes from the Hunslet / Beeston area of Leeds. Hope someone can help. |
