Hey Cherilyn

thanks for all your help.
I would love to find some immigration records but have searched to no avail. At first I searched through the Ancestry.com facilities and identfied Henry senior and Mary Jordan as his parents and within a couple of generations was rip snorting and tally-hoing through all the major nobility and royalty of the UK - the Mountjoys and Arundles and all the rest. I thought there must be a mistake. I do not think Mary A Toy was Mary Toy nee Jordan but am not able to find the correct Mary Ann Toy.

I am not sure where to go from here. i suppose I will have to buy Mary Ann Toy's death certificate to identify her parents however I seem to be forking out a fair bit for these lately so would refer other means.

Cheers
Ellen

Hi Ellen

My first step would be contacting the cemetery to see if the funeral applications have any further clues to offer.

I think better than the death cert would be Edwin's birth - you can use a transcription service like Joy Murrin, where you only pay for the fields of information you need. This can be quiet affordable and give great results.

I agree that the Mary is not the Jordans, and it seems none of the families in the census can be yours since the family was in NSW earlier than you thought.

Still intrigued by the reg date for Edwin...!
