fathers name Joseph. cannot find her on any census

could be but age wrong.on marraige certificate for 1913 she was 23

name Robert Wrightson Pearson married 18 January 1913 at Middlesborough.Have his info from helpers on genes.

Susan, ages on census can never be relied on and are often a year or so out. It all depends on the person's actual birth date and the date when the census was taken.

The census enumerator would only ask how old a person was and then count back. So, if she was 10 years old he would subtract 10 from the year of the census and assume a birth year of 1891. But, obviously, she could have been 10 years old in 1901 but actually born 1890.

EDIT: her birth was registered Jun quarter 1890 so that fits with the age 10 on census.

Another point, in 1891 the families didn't fill in their own census so if the enumerator misheard Hester instead of Esther that is quite feasible.

I may have been looking at the wrong spelling of name . Always known her as Esther,which is on certifacate also. But started as Hester

On the census's the ages are not always correct and neither is the spelling of names . Also they had a bad habit of changing the place they were born.

I agree they look like they lived together in 1911 i found the same one.the adress on the marraige certificate is 9 Branch st South Bank and 25 Branch St South Bank Middlesborough.
His mother was Christiana and he also had a sister called the same,his father married again and called his daughter that.
