Thank you Dea :) That's very strange, as the only birth I can find for a Harry Storrs in East Retford (Clarborough) is in 1866. However, the only likely Harry Storrs in 1901 born in Clarborough and living in Notts is only 17 born c1884. There is something here that we are missing.

I don't understand it. I left a message on here this morning but it doesn't seem to be here now.

I said - You need to work backwards Bridget. I am a little confused as to which certs you already have. If you have your father's birth cert, and his parents marriage cert, this should give you the age and fathers name (hopefully) of Iris. If it looks to be the same family as the 1911 census that we found, you need your grandmothers birth cert. Which would be this one -

Births Mar 1908
Storrs Iris Rotherham 9c 824

Then, if it's the right right Iris, you need the marriage cert of her parents, which may be this one.
Marriages Dec 1902
Gordon James William Doncaster 9c 1450
**********Phillips Harriet Doncaster 9c 1450
**********Storrs Harry Doncaster 9c 1450
Wright Marina Doncaster 9c 1450

yes that all correct i have the birth certificate and harry and harriet marriage cert and thats where it says harry father is a john storrs traction engine driver.deceased. harry was 32 in 1902 ? cant find anything else its a mystery?which still makes him born 1870 unless he lied about his age?

Thank you Bridget, it's all clear now. So what you need now is the other children on the 1911 census looking for?
