Find Ancestors

I am trying to find out if Vera had any siblings and her mother and father etc.

I only know that she was born in 1925, and she married Frederick Corbett Morton in Northumberland.

She had Sylvia, Freddie, John, and Helen as children during the 1940s, lived most of her life in Cramlington, Northumberland, until she passed away in 1990.

Any information would be very welcoming

Are you sure she was born 1925? Might have married at 16 but slightly unusual:

Catherine is right - there are a lot of Vera Potts births so impossible to say which is yours without more information.

If she was born on 9 Dec.1918, then her birth may not have been registered until Jan.1919.

I remember Vera having a sister called Rita.
She definitely married Frederick C Morton in 1940.
December rings a bell.

I do know that Rita can be shortened from the names Margaret and Rachel

Yes she definitely pass away in 1990, between July and September.

I was not sure how old she was when she married my grandad Frederick, but it is all starting to add up, and I really appreciate this.

The only person who was able to give me information over the years was my grandads brother Ken Morton, Vera's bother-in-law, who passed away in 2007.

Thinking back to the last time I was speaking with my grandads brother (Ken), he did mention being related to the surname Bell, but I was not sure how accurate that was.

I am not sure what the age difference between Vera and Rita, but from what I can remember is Rita's marriage name was Maddison.

Again I am not sure the first name of her husband, when and where they were married and if they had children.

I do know that he died but not sure when and how, and last time i saw her was before Vera died in 1990, so I am not sure if she has died or not.

Barbara, why don't you just get the marriage cert?
