Fran

those siblings are exactly as shown on the family tree that I found ..... I reckon the tree owner either got confused or does know something about mis-spellings.

Thank you Sylvia,
Your suggestion of being listed under another family name where he may have been living is quite possible.
If he was in a Boarding School, I wonder if a census was taken of students and may be missing from the Records.
The only sibling you have mentioned is Catherine (Kate) Wynne who married and moved to South Africa.
Other siblings Amy died 1841; William Percy Wynne died 1849; Emily Lucretia b.1840 can't be found; Sarah Ann died 1845; Watkin b.1846 can't be found.
I did find a Watkin Winne, age 34, with wife Emma on 1880 USA Census. They were born in England and this Watkin was the same age as what our Watkin would have been in 1880. Possibly him.

Thanks again,
Fran

I have looked at all the Public Family Trees on ancestry.

Not one of them has anyhting on Cardinal between 1844, and his marriage in Australia

which indicates to me that he has got himself well hidden on the 1861 and 1861 censuses!

I tried looking under Car* Wynn? where * and ? are wild cards ............ nada!
Just like everyone else!!

I also tried Alex* Wynn?, and Cardinal

I would think that is very possible because he may have been listed under another surname .............. maybe he was living with another family, and the enumerator just thought he was a child of that family

Here are his siblings as shown on one of the trees:-

William Wayne
1838 –

George Wayne
1841 –

Catherine Kate WYNNE
1843 – 1904

Mary Wayne
1843 –

Hi to all who have tried to help with locating Cardinal Alexander Wynne. I have really appreciated the information given. Some of it I already did have.

Sadly Cardinal's father William was a drinker and a debtor, and although he came from a wealthy family and trained as a Surgeon, I don't think he would have done much in regards practice. I have found that he did time in Horsemonger Gaol for debts. It appears that when his wife died the children were scattered in various directions; one living with her Uncle William S. Cardinal. It appears that another, Watkin, was in the Camberwell Workhouse. I have no idea of the others except for the ones who died as children.
The C.W. age 7 living at Goodsmans Fields Whitechapel seemed hopeful until found as wrong family.
My feelings are that Cardinal was probably placed in a Boarding School somewhere. By the way, he probabaly didn't know until older that he had never been baptised when a baby. His father had remarried and I don't think had anything to do with any of his children.
Thanks again,
Fran

No luck here either.
I wonder why he was baptised in 1860? Planning to marry? And why was there no occupation listed for father on the baptism record?
