Member Since: July 2007 Posts: 547 Send Message	Good Afternoon All, I am looking for a Charles SNEAD, he is on the 1871 Census - birth year down as 1864, then not until 1901 - birth year down as 1872, i know the birth year goes up and down 5+ years or so but i can't find him on the 1881 or 1891 Census. He was a general labourer, so nothing exciting, and was down as being born in Hereford - Burghill or Bardfield, again different on both Census. Any help would be great. I know they didn't have to register a child that early, i have searched but can't find anything for him. Many thanks Sally

	Sorry Sally, that's the only two I can see him on. I can see his Mum and some of the others in 81 and 91 but not him!

	OK, gotta try to redeem myself. Charles on the 1871 census was 7 years old but his parents married in 1870, didn't they? Could it be that he was an illegitimate child of Charlotte but used stepfather's last name then reverted to his legal name for other censuses? Am I clutching at straws?

	Charles was born 1871 or 1872, so was born after his parents married?

	According to the 1871 census he was born 1864.

	Sorry MadBull - will look at the 1871 again, in 1901 his age is given as 29 years.
