1841 census for Carlisle please

I noticed the comment that ages change on the census. In 1841 the age was not always exact, the recorder was only required to record the age up to 15 years and then round it up to the nearest '5'. So if you were 21,22,23,24 or 25 - you would be listed as 25, then from 26-30, you would be 30 etc. Some recorders wrote the exact age, others just rounded it up. |
