Hi Mel

No problems hun, thanks for coming back it is appreciated. It is strange because I have found that census - bit of a long story but I have always been told by my brother that our nan's name was Emily Gay so you can imagine my surprise when the only marriage I could find for Charles French to an Emily was to Emily Ricketts so I obtained my mum's birth certificate which confirmed her mum's maiden name was Ricketts, so I thought problem solved until I see Robert Gay on the 1901 Census and that he was a brother in law to Charles - cannot seem to find any connection with Charles (and as I said previously I cannot find anything for Emily Ricketts) so there must be a connection but I can't find it (hope this makes sense)
