I am trying to find more details on Henry George Reynolds born 10/12/1896 London. I have found what I think is his death in Ware Hertfordshire 1972 4B 808 which I found at findmypast. I have tried finding this on Free BDM but it does not come up. Would like to find his burial details and not sure what I am doing wrong in trying to get this to come up at free BDM.

Is this the sort of thing you are looking for Pittsy?
EDIT - I've just realised that you have that information - what were you hoping to get from Free BMD any different to that?

Name: Henry George Reynolds
Birth Date: 10 Dec 1896
Death Registration Month/Year: 1972
Registration district: Ware
Inferred County: Hertfordshire
Volume: 4b
Page: 808

FreeBMD is not transcribed up to 1972 - only about the 1940's. His burial details will not be on the death certificate. However if you buy the death certificate you will have his last address and you could contact the nearest cemetery to where he lived to see if he is buried there.

I did random searches on free BDM and there were 1972 deaths there but not this one. I am really trying to determine if it is the right person. I am also trying to find if he was divorced - any ideas. He disappeared apparently with a pregnant women in 1931 leaving his family behind. He served in WW1 but would have just been old enough. Have not been able to find records on his war service. I
1911 Census 54 High St Homerton NE London living with his family as George but appears to be using Henry George (names the opposite way around) after this time. Any help would be appreciated.

Trying to also find a son born in Westcott Surrey around 1931 to Henry George Reynolds. He had moved there around 1931 and a son was born.

Can anyone help - how do you search death notices in English newspapers.

I don't think you can do this online. You would have to contact the library nearest to where the death took place. You would need the death certificate first so that you had a date to start looking from. Most large libraries keep back copies of local newspapers on microfilm.
