It did seem mum was a bit quick off the mark marrying again in the same year she had a baby. Maybe Leon was missing in the Boar War and she wasnt informed he was dead till later so she married again when she was able.
I got grandfathers Boar War records from Kew but he came out on a pension so his records survived, You could try the National Archives site

Yes he is, but there did appear to be some marital shenanigans going on. She is listed under the name of her stepfather. Philip John Francois Le Riche, and shown as his daughter in the 1911 census and yet Frederick Le Monnier, the only other child of Leon Jules still at home, is shown as a stepson.

I have a long term search problem In Jersey. That is trying to trace the
death of my great grandfather Leon Jules Le Monnier. He was born in Rozel on 24th March 1865. On my grandmother's marriage certificate on 11th December 1909 it is stated that her father was deceased. Leon's wife Adelina Victoria remarried, to Philip Jean Francois Le Riche, on 9th
December 1908. The birth of daughter Muriel Grace Le Monnier is registered in St. Helier as 7th January 1908, so it would appear he died sometime in 1908. In one census year the christian name, Julius, is used instead of Leon Jules. In the 1901 census, alongside the name of his wife is written "wife of soldier serving in South Africa", although I could not find him on any of the rolls of honour or of service in the Boer War. Information on death and service in South Africa much appreciated. At the end of the 19th century he was working in Guernsey and supposedly could have returned there. Jersey Heritage Centre and Priaulx Library in St Peter Port unsuccessfully made searches.
