Find Ancestors

Hi Everyone, Hope someone can help.
I am looking for info on what became of my Great Grandmother.
She was born c1886,bapt 26/09/1886 in Curbridge,Oxfordshire, daughter of James and Ellen Hickman. Her name was Florence Elizabeth Hickman.

My Grandad was born in Barton On The Heath,Warks, on 03/01/1905. His name was William George Hickman. His Birth cert has no father listed.
Family stories vary, from staying in Oxfordshire and never marrying, to moving away ,getting married and having several children. Nobody really knows what became of her after my Grandad was born,as he was left to be brought up by James and his Aunties.

been looking on ancestry, there is a simpson family tree , with your ggrandmum and grandad on it. not much detail but could be worth a look got her on 1891 and 1901 census, will look on 1911 and get bsck to you.

Hi Alviegal, yes i have this, as you see, there is no sign of Florence. The Willie at the bottom is actually my Grandad. I know hes listed as son of James,but hes actually his Grandson. Clive

have tried emigration-deaths etc. cant find her. have an ancestor in my tree.
after 1861 census, totally disappeared, never to be found in any records.

The marriage certificate would give the fathers name and occupation. It would also give her age ( it may say full age(over 21) minor( under 21) or her actual age)

Perhaps someone could look up the Florence who married in 1905 to see if she was born in Curbridge, Oxfordshire on the 1911 census, which would say if this is your Florence.

Thanks for that, hopefully someone could look that up for me,as i dont have access to 1911 cencus at present due to money ( or lack of it).

ive looked up all the marriages on the 1911, none of the florences come from curbridge.

house, they sometimes dont appear on the normal census?
