Find Ancestors

I am trying to research Elijah Turner, born 1869, son of David. I know that he was married to Alice Chanter in 1916 and lived in Cambridge at the time, but I don't know anything else. He is of great importance to me as my great-grandfather, Leonard Arthur Turner, (who I can find very little information on) lived with him and his wife. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Did you get Elijah's father's name from his marriage certificate ?

When was Leonard born please ?

I did get the name David from the marriage certificate in 1916.

Leonard was born in 1887, though it is very possible that this could be a few years out.

Paul - what is it about Elijah that you're trying to research? Is it what relation he was to Leonard?

It is his relationship to Leonard I am interrested in.

I know very little about Leonard, but he supposedly married Gertrude Beckwith in c1910 and had a child, Gertrude Muriel Turner, who also lived with them.

Thank you Marie Celeste, that is very useful. I don't know what happened to the wife, but I know she must have died by 1925. I might apply for the marriage certificate in order to find his parents.

I have investigated the Birmingham link, TootyFruity, but it does not add up with my great grandfathe unfortunatly. I think he will be from either London or the East of England. Thanks for looking though!
