I am trying to research Elijah Turner, born 1869, son of David. I know that he was married to Alice Chanter in 1916 and lived in Cambridge at the time, but I don't know anything else. He is of great importance to me as my great-grandfather, Leonard Arthur Turner, (who I can find very little information on) lived with him and his wife. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. |

Did you get Elijah's father's name from his marriage certificate ? |

Paul - what is it about Elijah that you're trying to research? Is it what relation he was to Leonard? |

Thank you Marie Celeste, that is very useful. I don't know what happened to the wife, but I know she must have died by 1925. I might apply for the marriage certificate in order to find his parents. |

Chris Ho, thank you very much indeed, that was most informative. If by any means you could find such a record for Leonard, I would be incredibly grateful |

Andrew, that is brilliant, something I never would have thought to search. Elijah must have been quite difficult for the less educated census writers |
