Hi Maryb,

Thank you for that.

I too had come to the conclusion about Thomas as being with the wrong grandfather. I had so much info being fed to me I had a senior moment.

I do know that their daughter was born in Barnard Castle, from the 1891 census as she is with her mother in Consett.

as you say where the heck are Henry and Susannah in 1871. May be they were away as Henry was a Railway Excavator and who would have to move with his work.

Thank you again and sorry I did not get back sooner. I had house work to do. (It gets in the way off the real work. LOL)

HI every one, can anyone help please??
I'm still looking for the parents of John Taylor on 1971 census.

They are Henry and Susannah (nee Stephenson )Taylor. I have them on the1861.
I think I have Susannah on the 1871 as a visitor in Westo Durham. With out her children. So where were Henry and the children??

I have her on the 1891 and 1911 census as a widow . But I'm still missing both on 1871 and 1881 they seem to have vanished into thin air!!

Thanks again for any help on this, my hair is getting greyer by the minuet.

Wendy :))

No matter where I look I cannot find Henry and Susannah.

The Thomas I found in 1871 was not my Thomas he was to old.

I have found Susannah in the 1901 census in Consett Durham with John and Hannah.

Thank you for your time I am very grateful

Thank you all for the help yu have given me. I have just recieved the marriage cert for Henry and Susannah's marriage. The parents of John Taylor 1878 place of bith Wolsingham Gatehead. I can find no trace of his birth either. .

I have had no luck with finding Henry's birth on the 1961 census he was born in Burslem? a railway excavator.

Henry's father listed on his marriage cert as James Taylor (farmer) deceased . The marriage took place in Staindrop Durham?1855.

I have found Susannah's family in Staindrop.

thank you all once again
