That pretty much confirms that Duncan Robert Watson was indeed the father. I've uncovered a letter from Eustaces Mother to William ( Eustaces brother) saying 'Dear William you do know why your fathers parents think so much more of you than Ethel and Eustace, If you haven't worked it out, then i should tell you sometime' Very intriguing!! |

George Ransley b1871 Kent is a bit of a mystery, can't find his death, i notice a George Ransley emmigrated to Australia in 1923. I have no idea if that is him. Sarah died in 1942, and it seems she was on her own then. |

Indeed, as you said the once Anne-Marie, i think i need a birth certificate. You good folks have still given me plenty of information on the whereabouts of Eustace and Ethel that i did not have before. Many thanks |

David, I still don't see why you think Lydia was Eustace's mother? It has already been explained that the wrong assumption was made on the census. |

It's an old tree, i didn't have the idea that Lydia was Eustaces mother then. Sorry if you feel i have wasted your time. |

K - Eustace was the son of Duncan and Sarah. Lydia was Duncan's sister. |

I am still not sure why Eustace would take the surname Watson if his mother was Lydia and married the year before he was born? |

David, did you already know who his parents and siblings were before making your enquiry? |

Duncan Robert Watson and Sarah Elizabeth had 3 children, William Watson, Ethel Lydia Watson and Eustace. Duncan had a sister Lydia , who now appears to be the mother of Eustace? Lydia married in 1898 had Eustace in 1899. Lydia emmigrated to America in 1912 on her own. Eustace emmigrated to america in 1923, no sign of Lydias Husband. Sarah Elizabeth remarried in 1905 to George Ransley. Can anyone tell me where Ethel Lydie Watson is in 1901, and also 1911? |

Some progress! There is a public tree on Ancestry that also gives his parent's names as Duncan Robert Watson and Sarah Elizabeth Bird - there are no sources to back this up, but it does tie in with what has been found. |

Maybe Sarah E and her husband were on holiday in 1901 - he is listed as a fisherman born in Southwold and they were lodging in Bournemouth |

1901 - It is assumed by Ancestry that Lydia is the mother of Eustuce but she is just listed as the daugher of George and Lydia |
